Since 2017, Fearless Cities summits have been hosted by cities and regions all over the world including Warsaw, Belgrade, New York, Brussels, Rosario (Argentina) and Valparaíso (Chile).

They are at the heart of the international municipalist movement that is supporting connections between cities, organisations, communities and citizens who are building new public commons and deeper forms of local democracy and care across the world.

Fearless Cities South Yorkshire will bring together place-based initiatives from across the region with a trans-local network of community organisers, campaigners, politicians, grassroots movements, civil society organisations and those working in local and regional institutions from across the world.

This year's summit will focus on the theme of reimagining our commons through neighbourhoods of care.

Through this lens the summit will explore the many economic, ecological and social challenges that with different degrees of intensity, we collectively face. It will also explore the different types of place-based responses emerging from around the world that we can learn from.

The summit this year will have a foundational programme of speakers, panel sessions, workshops and cultural events to be announced over the following weeks. It will also feature unconference style gatherings throughout, for citizens, organisations and communities to hold space and bring visibility to the work they are doing and the possibilities they see emerging.

If you are interested in holding a session, workshop or something else please get in touch and let us know and we will help facilitate that with you.
